Prematurity is 24 x 7. In the United States alone, it effects more than 500,000 families each year. Prematurity does not go away, in society or in our hearts. Because you have found your way to this site, I can assume that your life has been touched by prematurity, just as mine has. We welcome you.
This site is dedicated to the babies being born each day, early. It is dedicated to the babies that never see outside the NICU. It is dedicated to the women whose hearts morn, hurt, or long to be close to their infant, but can not.

In 2007, I found myself excited and happy to be expecting my first child. My husband and I had tried for many years to conceive with no fortune. It seemed as though, as soon as I accepted my life terms to be infertile, I became pregnant.
After a short while we were told that my pregnancy was high-risk and would be closely monitored for the next months. At 29 weeks I was admitted to the local hospital on bed rest. With medical intervention on my side, I was given steroid shots to improve the outcome of my premature son’s lungs. Almost a week went by when I was told that I could go home for the next 10 weeks on bed rest. I was in the planning stages of going home, when my placenta began to bleed, this time uncontrollably and certainly without interruption.
I remember pausing in prayer and begging that my child would soon be out of my body which could potentially cause him harm or death. I felt for the first time like his Mother. His life was in my hands, and I wanted nothing more than protect him from harm.
What would bring him to the world in the following 30 minutes was by far the most emotional experience in my life.
